Henry Schein Cares Foundation has established the East Africa Famine Relief Fund
September 2011 — East Africa is currently experiencing its worst drought in over 60 years, causing a terrible crisis in the region, including a devastating famine and the displacement of many in the region. It has been reported that tens of thousands have already died, and an estimated 12 million people in Somalia and neighboring Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti are suffering from acute food shortages. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this tragedy.
To aid the victims of this terrible calamity, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, Inc. has established a fund to provide a vehicle for Team Schein Members and others who are interested in providing support. The proceeds from the Relief Fund will be applied directly and completely to relief efforts. Henry Schein, Inc. will match all donations that Team Schein Members contribute to this fund.
Any Team Schein Member (or any person outside of Henry Schein) wishing to contribute to this fund can make a donation by credit card through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation Web site, http://www.hscaresfoundation.org (click the "donate button" to be directed to an online credit card processing page, and select “East Africa Famine Relief Fund” for the gift designation.)
In addition, for those wishing to contribute to the fund by check, please make your check payable to "Henry Schein Cares Foundation" with "East Africa Famine Relief Fund" noted in the memo of the check and mail your donation to Dewi Wijaya, Henry Schein Cares Foundation, Inc., 135 Duryea Road, Melville, NY 11747 U.S.A. (or via interoffice mail at Melville E-370).
As a 501(c)(3) organization, donations to the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, Inc. are tax deductible in the United States.
