Henry Schein Cares Foundation Assisted the National Association of School Nurses' to Launch an Online Educational Production of its Managing Asthma Triggers Program
June 2012—The Henry Schein Cares Foundation provided a grant to one of the National Association of School Nurses' new initiatives, the Managing Asthma Triggers program. The National Association of School Nurses is an accredited organization consisting of 51 affiliates in states all across the country. This organization offers a wide variety of education and advocacy programs aimed to empower school nurses to advocate for policy change in schools, with the hope that it can improve the overall health of students.
With additional funding from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Association was able to launch a video to increase awareness and education for students, parents, faculty, and other school staff about asthma safety in schools. The Managing Asthma Triggers video consists of four modules that includes tools and resources that can create a healthier school environment. The National Association of School Nurses recently published this video on its online learning center for anyone to view.
Funding for the grant came from funds raised through Henry Schein Cares' Global Reflections™ Program. Global Reflections™ offers healthcare practitioners a wide selection of eco-friendly clinical and office products in support of an environmentally sustainable future. As one of Henry Schein Cares' Calendar of Caring programs, a portion of the profit from purchases is donated to the Henry Schein Cares Foundation in support of causes that address health and the environment.
