The Henry Schein Cares Foundation supports Hope Lodge
December 2012—The Henry Schein Cares Foundation, in partnership with Henry Schein, Inc., donated 1,500 Welcome Kits to the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge. Since 2008, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation has supported the American Cancer Society by providing specially designed Welcome Kits for guests staying at Hope Lodge.
Hope Lodge is a free temporary housing service provided to those receiving treatment for cancer at local hospitals. During their stay at the Hope Lodge, cancer patients and their loved ones are given a comfortable and supportive place to stay during their treatment and are armed with vital information to help them make informed decisions about the disease. Hope Lodge provides access to counseling, comprehensive support programs, and nutrition and exercise classes for patients. Hope Lodge is their home away from home, offering up to 60 private guest rooms in a home-like environment at 31 locations.
The Welcome Kits provided by the Henry Schein Cares Foundation are intended to make guests feel at ease and make their stay at the Hope Lodge more comfortable and less stressful. Our supplier partners have been extremely generous to provide the contents of the kits, which include a backpack, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, stress relief ball, key chain, picture frame, personal journal, and other items.
